About QuestModeLife

Built by one person who needed to
figure out his own life first

A failed startup. A newborn son. A developer who had no idea where to focus anymore. QuestModeLife started as a personal problem — I needed clarity on my own goals and couldn't find one tool that did it all without locking my data. So I built it myself.
QuestModeLife mission - level up your life

How QuestModeLife Started

Not from a business plan — from a new dad who was genuinely lost

The Messy Reality

After a failed startup attempt with a team that wasn't fully committed, I found myself lost. I'd just become a first-time father. I didn't know what to prioritize — career, family, building something? I was searching for direction and couldn't find it.

The Simple Insight

I started searching for productivity tools — mission statement generators, SMART goals, vision boards — but they were all scattered across different apps. Half required accounts. Some locked features behind paywalls. None of them talked to each other. I just wanted one place to figure out what I actually wanted from life.

The Push I Needed

My wife got tired of watching me research instead of build. She said: 'Instead of thinking about what the market wants, just build something from what you can do or enjoy.' So I asked: what do I enjoy? Games. What's my problem? Productivity and direction. QuestModeLife was born.

Core Principles

The values that guide every tool built on QuestModeLife

Building QuestModeLife
  • 1

    Always Free, Always Accessible

Self-improvement shouldn't cost money. Every core tool on QuestModeLife is 100% free, forever. No paywalls, no hidden fees, no feature gates. If you want to support development, there are optional premium templates — but the free tools will never be crippled.

  • 2

    You Own Your Data

No tracking, no analytics, no data harvesting. Everything runs in your browser with localStorage. Export everything as PDF or images. Your progress is YOURS — not locked in someone's database. I built it this way because I believe privacy matters, not because it's a marketing angle.

  • 3

    Export Everything

The ability to print your character sheet, frame your vision board, and share your achievements is a feature, not a bug. Digital tools should enhance physical life, not replace it. Every tool exports beautifully.

  • 4

    Built in Public, Honestly

This is a solo project built with vibe coding — me, an AI assistant, and a stubborn refusal to overthink it. Every hour I spend building is an hour away from my family. That means I move fast, keep it simple, and ship things that actually work rather than chasing perfection.

What Makes QuestModeLife Different

Not just another productivity app — a complete life system you actually own

Interconnected System

Unlike random templates, our tools work together. Your Mission Statement informs your Goals. Goals create Quests. Quests build Stats. Everything feeds into your character progression.

Beautiful Exports

Every tool exports as professional PDFs and images. Print your weekly planner, frame your vision board, share your achievement certificates. Digital + physical.

No Fluff, Pure Value

Each tool solves ONE problem extremely well. No bloated features, no feature creep. Simple, focused, effective. Built by someone who uses these tools himself.

ADHD-Friendly Design

Visual progress bars, instant gratification, dopamine rewards. The Dopamine Menu and Quest Planner are specifically designed for neurodivergent brains that struggle with traditional planners.

Works Offline

No internet? No problem. All tools work in your browser with localStorage. Your character sheet is always with you. No cloud dependency, no sync issues.

No Vendor Lock-In

Export everything. Leave anytime. Your data isn't held hostage. If QuestModeLife disappears tomorrow, you still have all your PDFs. That's intentional — I've been burned by apps that disappear, and I refuse to do that to others.

The Team

Built by a Solo Developer

One Person, Real Goals

My goal is simple: be a good father while creating tools that are genuinely useful to people. My wife is likely stepping back from work after maternity leave — so building something sustainable matters beyond just passion. That pressure is real, and honestly, it makes me more focused.

User-Driven Roadmap

Every tool, every feature, every update comes from listening to real users. Found a bug? Want a new tool? Send feedback. The roadmap is shaped by what you actually need, not what I think is cool. Your feedback directly shapes what gets built next.

The Mission

To make self-improvement as engaging as video games, and help people level up their lives without locking their progress in someone else's database.

Every person deserves to feel like the hero of their own story. QuestModeLife gives you the tools to make that happen — and lets you keep them.
